Wikipedia defines Color-blocking “as thought of as the exploration of taking colors that are opposites on the color wheel and pairing them together to make interesting and complementary color combinations.” In basic terms color blocking is taking two solid colors and pairing them together to make a outfit. These colors should compliment one another. I use to be so scared of color blocking ,because I couldn’t master the right color combo. I wouldn’t say I’m a pro yet, but I’m here to share some tips with you guys that helped me.
3 Types of Color-Blocking
1) Neturals– This is the easiest way to color block in my opinion. In most cases all neutrals pair well together. Colors like White, Cream, Olive, camel, etc can be paired together to create a very fashionable color block look.
2) Monochromatic- Monochromatic is wearing separates of one color or different shades of one color.With Monochromatic you can mix different textures with your outfit to make it a bit fun. This is a great way to have a little fun with your looks.
3) Contrasting- This is the option I went with in this photo below. I wanted something bright for summer, but still really cute. Green and Lavender have definitely been trending lately as a pair, so I wanted to give it a try. These colors look amazing together and they also don’t clash.
