My Current Natural Hair Product Rotation

Natural Hair Tips

I’ve been natural for about three years now. The number one lesson I’ve learned during my natural hair journey is that you have to find what products work best for your hair. It’s best to do your own research and see what products work for your hair type and doesn’t. Don’t make the mistake I did and buy products that end up in the trash. I have now found a few favorites and I wanted to share.

Products & How I use them

Prepoo– I don’t prepoo my hair every wash day, but when I do I use aloe vera juice from a aloe vera plant. I buy my aloe vera plant from publix. Aloe vera juice really does something different to my curls. My curls are so defined after applying the aloe vera juice and I love how my hair feels once I wash it out. I also use my aloe vera for a few other things I’ll share later on in this post.

Shampoo & Conditioner– I currently don’t have a favorite shampoo. If you guys have any recommendations please share. I just recently started using Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner and I am very impressed. My hair really feels hydrated after applying this conditioner. I love it to start the detangling process of my wash day routine and this conditioner makes it very easy. It’s also very affordable.

Deep Conditioner– I deep condition with a few different products depending on what I feel is necessary. If I am just doing a normal deep condition treatment I use African Pride Detox & Soften Heat Activated Masque . The only con about this product is I don’t like the smell. It’s a little too strong I believe. If I feel like I need some extra moisture I will go in with ORS hair mayonnaise . I’ve been using this product for years and I love it. After having my hair in one style for a while like braids this product is great to bring my hair back to life.

African Pride Leave in

Oils & Leave in– For a leave in I use African Pride Leave in . I like this product because it’s not heavy. I use the LOC (leave in, oil, cream) method so after applying my leave in I go in with a oil. For my oil I mix extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and aloe vera juice. I just started applying this mixture to my hair and I’ve noticed a huge difference. I also apply this product to my ends and style.

This has been my product rotation for this last month and I think I’m starting to master what works. Yes, after three years. Now I know why they call it a natural hair journey.

Let me know what are some products you love!

Until Next time…
